A delegation from Islami Andolan Bangladesh recently participated in a constructive meeting held at the invitation of the European Union. The meeting was hosted by H.E. Dr. Bernd Spanier, Chargé d’Affaires of the Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh, along with Mr. Sebastian Riger-Brown, First Secretary (Political).
Discussions centered around the current political and economic landscape of Bangladesh, with particular focus on the electoral process—especially the Proportional Representation (PR) system and its effective implementation in many European countries.
The EU representatives expressed a keen interest in the activities of Islami Andolan Bangladesh and reaffirmed their respect for the democratic aspirations of the Bangladeshi people. They emphasized the EU’s commitment to working with any government that is freely and fairly elected. Furthermore, the EU representatives outlined plans to increase investment in Bangladesh and reiterated their continued support for the country’s development and progress.
In response, the delegation assured them that Bangladesh remains a safe, stable, and promising destination for international investment and collaboration.
The delegation was led by Engineer Ashraful Alom, Joint Secretary General of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, and Professor Dr. Belal Nur Ajiji, Foreign Affairs Secretary, Assistant Professor Imtiaz Ahmed Sajal and Md. Rajon Sikder, Member Foreign Affairs sub-committee.
