Courtesy Call by the Delegation of Islami Andolan Bangladesh on the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran
Dhaka, 15 July 2026: At the invitation of H.E. Mr. Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Bangladesh, a delegation of Islami Andolan Bangladesh paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador at the Embassy of Iran in Dhaka on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the two sides held cordial and constructive discussions on Bangladesh–Iran bilateral relations, regional and international affairs, economic cooperation, and other issues of mutual interest. Both sides expressed optimism about further strengthening and expanding the longstanding friendly relations between Bangladesh and Iran.
On behalf of the Ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim (Pir Saheb Charmonai), the delegation conveyed its profound sympathy to the Government and people of Iran over the recent conflict. The delegation also prayed for the eternal peace of those who lost their lives in the attacks by the United States and Israel and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. Furthermore, the delegation expressed its hope for an immediate end to the war, the restoration of peace and stability in the Middle East, and the return of normalcy in Iran.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral trade, launching direct air connectivity between Bangladesh and Iran, enhancing mutual business cooperation, and increasing opportunities for Bangladeshi students to pursue higher education and receive scholarships at Iranian universities.
The Islami Andolan Bangladesh delegation was led by Alhaj Golam Moshi, International Affairs Adviser and former Ambassador of Bangladesh. Other members of the delegation included Assistant Professor Imtiaz Ahmed Sajal, International Affairs Secretary of Islami Jubo Andolan Bangladesh, and Md. Rajon Sikder, Member Secretary of the International Affairs Subcommittee of Islami Andolan Bangladesh and International Affairs Secretary of Islami Chhatra Andolan Bangladesh.
