এশিয়ার পর্যটন রাষ্ট্র নেপালের নেপাল-তিব্বত সীমান্তবর্তী বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলে সাম্প্রতিক আকস্মিক বন্যা, পাহাড়ি ঢল ও ভূমিধসে ব্যাপক প্রাণহানি এবং অবকাঠামোগত ক্ষয়ক্ষতির খবরে গভীর শোক প্রকাশ করেছেন ইসলামী আন্দোলন বাংলাদেশের আমীর মুফতী সৈয়দ রেজাউল কারীম, পীর সাহেব চরমোনাই।
শোকবার্তায় পীর সাহেব চরমোনাই বলেন, তিব্বত সীমান্তে হিমবাহ ধস/ভূমিধসের ফলে ‘ভোটে কোশী’ নদীতে হঠাৎ প্রবল বেগে নেমে আসা পানির ঢলের প্রবল বন্যায় নেপালের জনগণের জানমালের যে ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হয়েছে তা অপূরণীয় কষ্টকর ঘটনা। এই দুর্ঘটনায় ইসলামী আন্দোলন বাংলাদেশ-এর পক্ষ থেকে গভীর শোক প্রকাশ করছি।
একই সাথে বিবৃতিতে তিনি বলেন, এই দুর্ঘটনায় নিহতদের প্রতি আমরা গভীর সমবেদনা জানাই। নিখোঁজদের দ্রুত সন্ধান এবং আহতদের দ্রুত সুস্থতা কামনা করছি।
উল্লেখ্যে : ২৬ আগস্ট নেপালের তিব্বত সীমান্তে হিমবাহ ধস/ভূমিধসের ফলে ‘ভোটে কোশী’ নদীতে হঠাৎ প্রবল বেগে পানির ঢল নেমে আসে। নেপালের রসুয়া, নুওয়াকোট এবং ধাদিং জেলা সবচেয়ে বেশি ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে। আকস্মিক এই বন্যায় অন্তত ৯৮ জন প্রাণ হারিয়েছেন এবং স্থানীয় অধিবাসী ও বিদেশি পর্যটকসহ (কৈলাশ মানসসরোবর যাত্রীসহ) ৪০০-এরও বেশি মানুষ নিখোঁজ রয়েছে। বন্যায় একাধিক সেতু, রাস্তাঘাট, ঘরবাড়ি এবং অন্তত ছয়টি প্রধান জলবিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত বা ভেসে গেছে। দুর্গম পাহাড়ি এলাকা হওয়ায় উদ্ধার অভিযান চালাতে সেনাবাহিনী ও হেলিকপ্টার মোতায়েন করা হয়েছে।
Pir Saheb Charmonai Expresses Deep Grief and Sorrow over Loss of Lives and Damage in Devastating Flood and Flash Landslides in Nepal
Mufti Syed Rezaul Karim, Pir Saheb Charmonai and Ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, has expressed deep grief over the news of massive loss of lives and infrastructural damage caused by recent flash floods, mountain torrents, and landslides in various areas of the Nepal-Tibet border region of the Asian tourist country Nepal.
In his condolence message, Pir Saheb Charmonai stated that the tragic loss of life and property suffered by the people of Nepal due to the violent flooding caused by sudden, heavy torrents flowing into the ‘Bhote Koshi’ river—triggered by a glacier collapse/landslide at the Tibet border—is an irreparable and painful event. “On behalf of Islami Andolan, we express our profound grief over this tragic disaster,” he added.
He further expressed in the statement, “We convey our deepest sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident. We pray for the swift recovery of the injured and hope that those who are missing will be traced quickly.”
Note: On August 26, a glacier collapse/landslide on the Nepal-Tibet border caused a sudden, strong surge of water into the ‘Bhote Koshi’ river. Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts of Nepal were the hardest hit. At least 98 people lost their lives in this sudden flood, and more than 400 people, including local residents and foreign tourists (along with Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims), remain missing. The floods damaged or swept away multiple bridges, roads, houses, and at least six major hydroelectric plants. Due to the remote mountainous terrain, the army and helicopters have been deployed to carry out rescue operations.
